Experimental Lighting: coloured gels and hand held torches were used to achieve the effects, combine with a long exposure time.
Lighting Ratio 1:3- This pic of Nath from Melbourne Blackbooks Art Crew uses traditional lighting techniques which include highlights with tone, open shadows with soft edges and a triangle of light on the cheek.
Hard Lighting- I used a spotlight which was directed through a small gap in a board placed above the models position. Got some really strong contrast with intense highlights and black shadows. Thanks Henrietta.
Soft Lighting- Using the Ring Light to create this low contrast and diffused self portrait. I thought it was due time to post some of the photographic work from this semester. These images were for an assignment requiring the use of studio lighting. I found it an interesting exercise, although frustrating at times.
